Just heard from Chuck and also Aaron in Pittsburg. Aaron will be there with his Scamp and we are trying to convince Chuck to at least be there with his Dart or the wagon for the car count.

David's got 2.76 gears in that Dart according to his signature. Drive it! Bee there!
I can't drive it on the street due to no tags, insurance, or reliability. I would have to tow it up there. About 190 miles each way, I have to tow with an 81 Ford van, so there goes gas mileage out the window. Food, race fees, I would definitely stay both days. It would be costly, that's for sure.

Gas is the big expense... race fees at Redding are low. (last year it was $10.00 per day  :) ) Camping at the track is free...
Push hard to make it.... you will Bee glad you did!

Tags for the Dart are probably less than the gas for the van. I know there are others from the Sacramento area making the trip. Caravan with them if you think you have reliability problems.

It has about $700 in back fees on it.

Those are Dungeness Crabs (my wife's uncle calls them Sea Spiders) the limit is 12 per day and we came home with 46 total for 2 days.
Sure would like to draw you, just to put you back on the trailer. All kidding aside it will be good to see your PINK car again   .
See you in Redding might even buy you a beer or two.

We all know it is a "labor of love" to be involved in slant6 racing both time wise and financially. The Redding track magagement has bent over backwards by waving tech fees on Sunday, reducing tech fees cost to just $10.00, having the track open late Friday for all your convenience, waving overnight fees, complimentary tech personell, ( that actually comes to our slant6 area to tech us as a group)... Many will "brown bag it) or BBQ to save food cost, many will camp out..to save cost...IT IS DOABLE..
Lets keep the "ball rolling" and BEE THERE...

Anyone from the Sacto area have a truck/trailer that could help David get his car to Redding?

I've got a torque converter and rear gear swap that has to happen this weekend. Hopefully no hitches.
Did some band adjustment experiments, and the transmission seems to be behaving itself.

I don't think Mark is bringing his pretty show car this time. I think he's loaded for bear with the Guzzi powered race car!
I'm looking forward to seeing that machine run. :D

Always listen to Doc!

I always do my own thing, 'cause I know so much, then end up fixing it the way Doc told me to in the first place.

It's nice to have a "been there, done that" person to bounce ideas off of... even if you go ahead and do the job "my way" just to see for yourself.

These days, some of the stuff I think about and try is far enough "out there" that even the most knowledgable moterheads just give me a "glazed look" or roll their eyes when I ask them for input... "how the heck should I know" is usually the responce I get. :?
