very cool...my dad doesn't really have any interest in cars. He fixes what's wrong when he can, but surprisingly nothing more. My grandfather was a car maniac--5 car garage, 4 doors on it, and a 4 car carport (covered) and room for 4 more on the driveway. But I think he and my dad didn't get along. My dad says he wasn't allowed to touch grandpa's tools. So who knows what really happened. My dad always says I've got my grandpa in me--which is silly since anything I learned I learned from my dad =)

I think a simple set of dogdish hub caps would round the whole package out real nice! :D

Looks like you've done a real nice job.
Cast my vote for a set of UFOs.

Hey, what is that round thing on your RH inner fender?

I love the door panels. Did scamps have the upper door panels on the doors or is that something you conjured up. Im looking for something like that cuz frankly, I want something to match my leather seats and make it look a lil classier.

The plastic upper part is stock. I repainted them. The large panel was vinyl over pressboard stock. We removed the vinyl and found the grey material in a fabric shop. My son wanted flames so we took 1 inch thick foam and cut flames and then glued it to the panel and then glued the fabric over it. If you look close you can see the flames on the front seat and passenger and drivers door panels.

Oh, the round thing is a part of the EGR system. It's called a vacuum amplifier. Since they don't inspect under the hood I plan to remove it and the related EGR hoses and such. I wasn't sure how the smog testing would go so I hooked everything up but they never checked under the hood. All they do here in Az is sniiff test and gas cap for my year anyways, '74. So all the EGR stuff will be gone soon. The under hood shots should be much cleaner by the next photo.

Agreed on the fatter rubber. These were some used tires off a 2002 Malibu I kept when my wife had new tires put on. Likely we will go with slightly taller and a little wider. We can go another 1 to 2 inches inboard if needed. I had to cut the wheel wells and pump the air shocks to keep these from rubbing. When I did the disc brake conversion and Aspen 3.21 rear end we went to LBP and the wheels came off a Cordoba 15X7's out of a junk yard. Had no intention of keeping them but I just needed something to get it on the road. I suggested the UFO's and we may go get some this weekend but he is bent on some nice aluminum rims eventually. He wants to go with 16's and lower profile tire as all the kids want these days. Since he owes Mom so much already it will be a while before that. But there is only a few thousand miles left on these tires so we'll see.

As to the door opener thingy, the door lever on the interior is stock, The plastic bezel is stock as well, just repainted. The thing that looks different is the flame pattern of the foam under the fabric on the panel. Also the window crank is starting to wear out the fabric. I need to do something about that.

Thanks for the compliments.
