I think by then I would have to bring the convertable, I'll have to check and see if they allow incredibly slow convertables to "race" there. If so I'm in. |

Mason-Dixon Dragway calender shows their annual MOPAR race as the 31st of May not the 10th. If this is set up as an official slant race Dan and I will be there with my 2 Darts. |

They did not have the 2009 schedule up before. I got the date off the Maryland Mopar web site. I have not made contact with them yet but will do so shortly. I had been down with my back for over a week. Getting better now. Rick |

I have been trying off and on for the last week to contact Mason Dixon Dragway about hosting a race. I can get their web site up but when I hit contact us it just sets there like it is locked up. I tried to call them and the message on their phone is just that their season is over and then you can not leave a message. Would someone please log on and see if you can get their contact e-mail to open up. Also it does list the Mopar event on April 26th, not in May. I have seen 3 different dates so far, so we really need to talk to someone at the track. I believe the Mopar race is a one day only event (Sunday) with a Gamblers race on Saturday open to everyone. Thanks for the info and update. Maybe wait a coupla weeks until well after the holidays then try calling/emailing again. May 31 or Apr 26 would probably work better than May 10. Happy holidays, Lou |

Awesome! May 30-31 are the dates, right? We have some flexibility at this point. Lou |

OK Boys, The news is good!! I just got off the phone with Mr.Wachter at Mason-Dixon and he seemed eager to host a slant six race. Very eager actually. He was more than willing to have us come at almost anytime and more than once if we want to. It sounds as though we can run our race any time we want any way we want with the pay out however we want. All our decisions, that's good! Here are the details I have. 1 The date of the Mopar event is May 31st, with a Gamblers race on the 30th.This date is fine with him. If we can decide on a date he will get it up on the calendar right away. 2 We can run our own race on Saturday or Sunday. It even sounded like we could do both if we wanted. I suppose the norm is to run the Slant 6 race on Saturday and stay after for the all Mopar race on Sunday. Is that correct? He sounds flexible to whatever we want. 3 He said he would do a 100% payout for us, distributed however we wanted. Entry fee is $30 so with 15 cars that would be a $450 payout. If we can drum up more cars and raise some more money from sponsors or donations that would make it even better. 4 They have 2 time trials before the races start. 5 We can generate our own ladder any way we would like. 6 If we give him a car count we can get our own pit area so we can all park together. 7 He said the Gambler's race on Saturday is $60 with a 100% payout. So, First, are we interested in a race here at Mason Dixon (Hagerstown Md.) and is May 30th and 31st a good date for us? Any other questions I need to get an answer to right now? Once we decide on a date I will let him know and then we can decide on how and when we want to run the race. I will ask about overnight camping. Their calendar is up now and it will be finalized next week. We can be added any time though. Take a look at their calendar and see if there is any other dates that would work better. Thanks, Rick Covalt |

Since you are calling him anyway could you ask about racing a convertible for me? Not a fast convertible, probably a high 17 second car. Good work Rick |
