Think I will go for the a gas record and will bee at 2325 which is a little heavy for that class.Seymore has run under 11.40 but not at a slant event.I think I can run a 11.40 ish at my lighter weight and get his record for a month or two.I know he will come back and get it in the 11.30s.My goal this year is to have a,b c gas records beat,if evan for a day.mark
I'm just gonna shoot for A & B Gas (maybe Alcohol)... and later Unlimited...

Dreamin' about it is FREE!

I'm excited to see what this radical engine and light car can do. I just need to get there...

Hey! Duck and cover (Lou)! Better be careful, very often where you find smoke you're likely to find fire.

Well, there HAS been plenty of smoke for a long time. I'm hoping there is still some usable fire in there somewhere to make this happen!

Ya gotta get a running driveing car,and go down the track at least once before you start thinking about records.A year from now I will bet you still wont bee closer to any records than you are now.My Opinion.Guzzi Mark

I'm sure you're right, Mark. It's very slow going for me with all the family commitments, the Army job and trying to work on too many things at a time.

The whole record thing may never happen for me and I may never be a threat to your B/Gas record or Seymour's A/Gas record. I AM just a "Smoke Blowin' Poser" after all.

The Duster is coming along very slowly and it looks like I won't be making it down to pick up the Challenger until late August or September.

I've still got 10 months to prove Mark wrong.

He's busy adding weight to add the C/Gas record to his list and I'm sure Seymour is busy slicing more weight out of his car and looking at ways to lower the A/Gas record.

Norm is giving me a big barrel of alcohol along with the Challenger (No, not THAT kind of alcohol! ), so I'll likely use that up first...

11.4X / 7.2X to get either of the A/Gas or A/Alcohol records...

Norm's best times were 11.60 / 7.355 on alcohol at around 2250-2300 w/driver...

B/Gas is at 11.5X / 7.3X...

That B/Alcohol record from 2003 won't likely be threatened (at least not by me!) Was Brent Laney the driver of Mark Goodman's green Lancer?

Just continued rambling thoughts to keep me somewhat motivated...

Have a Nice Day! :D

You can get another 100 lbs out of that thing, and you are lighter than Norm. 11.40s should be doable... Focus.

You're right. Gerald and I were eyeballing where some weight could be taken out and I am a little lighter than Norm. We won't ever get it to the very bottom of A class, but we could hit the bottom of B real easy.

Just freshening up Norm's current engine could do it. Dropping in the new race engine could put it over the top!

Post subject:  Finally gonna go get it...

Well, Norm PM'd me the other day wondering if I was ever gonna go and pick up the Challenger and extra parts...

So, I'll be heading down to Georgia to pick everything up this weekend! :D

Watch out Mark!! I'll have this thing runnin' in the 10's before the season's over!

Post subject:  Challenger's ready!

Hey Mark! I went and picked up the Challenger and decided to hit a Test & Tune on the way home with it.

Turns out the reason the car slowed down by a full second and made Norm think it had spun a bearing was just a restriction in the fuel line that took about 5 minutes to fix!

I'm not sure what it will run in the 1/4 mile yet, but how does a 7.18 in the 1/8th sound!?

That looks like a low 11 in the 1/4 mile...
