Yeah, the guy is really good at what he does, i dealt with him for past 10 years and so far he seemed to be able to figure out things on my other vehicles , that others could not.
But i guess he has finally met his match, since he isn't really familiar with the slant 6 issues.
If the carb re-build dosen't help i do know one other guy who might be able to figure it out, but his shop is about 120 miles out of town.
I guess i might have to take a little trip next week....

I mentioned coil voltage before, but should have mentioned this along with some other possible causes of your problem. I think you have a combination of problems. Manifold , egr valve and throttle shaft vacuum leaks along with all the bad behavior a holley 1945 is capable of can drive anybody crazy. A lean misfire is very common with this carb when they malfunction. If you had low coil voltage along with an excessive lean condition it could explain your symptoms. Some auto parts stores sell holley factory rebuilt carbs for about $140.00 but you need to inspect the throttle shafts for wear because some are sloppy . Another thing you might want to do is remove the catalytic converter for a test drive. A clogged catalytic converter is almost as bad as driving with a potato up your exhaust. It's hard to diagnose a car over the internet but I hope this helps. Good luck

Yeah, one ofthe guys from a parts shpop was telling me, that someone had to bring their re-built carb in 5 times, because the holley re-builts are sloppy.
He told me that auto-line does better job at re-building the holleys.
