Mopardude, if you have the complete engine specs, including ALLthe flow bench numbers on the head (not just max), send me a PM. I met a rep from a major cam company at the PRI show. He would do the research and grind a cam. But said not to waste his time by calling without having complete info. I couldn't use him as none of my heads have been flowed.

well i called comp (not my fav) and for .544 valve after lash the best the could do was like 259 duration @ .050 on a 904 lifter...
Dude...don't call comp, they don't know crap about our engines...go to their web page and download the "Lobe Catalog"...spend time looking at the Mopar MM lobes(I know one hyperpakked 198 motor used one of the "M" cams to assist with the ram-tune dyno run on the top end)... I see that lobe 6584 will provide the .570 lift @ 1.5 ratio with a 251@.050 requirement lash would be about .20-ish depending on how tight the ramp is(6585 would be better with lash and a smidge more duration to hit your goal)...I guess if you went with a hemi lobe the 290@050 with a .702 lift would be overkill since the ports in our head will probably eel over on the benefits just past the .550 mark, thus more duration to help at that point.

I spent a year taking notes out of the 2004 Master Catalog while being outsourced (Rob Simmons can say that the dry-erase board in my office was a long rod build up nightmare...Right Rob!!!! LOL). I talked to comp when I came back and they won't recommend any custom lobes or cams
since they can't be guaranteed or warranteed, you have to do the research and detail the cam you want (lobes, LSA, etc) and bear the burden of the design and mistake if it doesn't work.

FYI,

-D.Idiot
lol... well there is another hit for comp! also mark was saying there is issues with there nitrited cams and our oil pump gears?

BUT THANK you for the info on the "blank" lobes that you can pull from... did you call them and say i wax "X" lobe on my slant cam and they said they could do it?

I ran an erson 238@ .050 510lift 108lsa in my other motor, I would get a higher lift cam from erson instead of the rockers.

How did you know I'd be readin' this "Mater"? My build won't need roller rockers - it just needs more money. But if I didn't have to buy MY OWN fried green tomatos (which I did) I would have more cash for the project.

Your just gettin' brave cause ya scored that white car - your still a poser. Ask me how I know! All the best from your older, wiser, and better lookin' friend from the north, Cookie.

Wayne, my wife makes a mean fried green mater.

805-My cam is an old Clifford 300/.558". I bought it used from Mike Jeffrey a while ago.

IF you call Comp the only one you want to talk to is Tim Cole. He races a V-6 Corvette in Comp Eliminator so he knows a little bit about 6 cylinders. I had him do a cam for me and it worked very well.

Trust me, there are some very fast Slant cars out there with Comp cams in them, and most of them have less cam than I do.

When all is said and done, the rest of the setup is way more important than camshaft, especially when you get over .500 lift.

Big D, you are a lucky dog! I think you have a keeper!

I know you were concerned when RUSH did not make the last rock n roll hall of fame nominations but don't worry they will get there.

I hate the Stones, love the Beatles but when it comes to gold and platinum - Rush comes in third behind these guys. Nuff Said.

Yep...As long as you line them out on I want XXXX for my intake lobe, and XXXX for my exhaust lobe with an LSA of 10X...they'll pull a blank and grind it up for you...If it doesn't work out then you get to have it reground or buy another one...(Don't try to put a roller lobe on the stock slant blank...they won't do that...)

I wouldn't be interested in a roller, but I wouldn't mind having a true 1.6 rocker. THAT could help some.

Also......FWIW, I think to say rollers return very little is a stretch. They almost completely eliminate valve tip wear, valve guide and valve stem wear. That right there in my book would be WELL worth some affordable rollers. That's friction, guys. Anytime you eliminate or reduce friction, HP has to go up. Course, I'm not arguin this from a HP standpoint. To me there's no arguement. Rollers WILL add something. The question becomes do you want to afford it?

Check out T&D in Nevada.

I was disappointed in my transaction with RAS.

Rollers do NOT eliminate vale tip wear, they just put it in a different shape, especially since rollers still have oiling issues for street use. Rollers also do not eliminate that much friction because we don't have stupid high valve spring pressures. Also, these are not true rollers, but rather roller tip.

They eliminate some friction, but I bet the gain is almost immesurable.

As far as bang for the buck, rollers are so far down the list it's not funny.
