Very sound advice. Yep, buy a set now before you need to replace them and they are no longer available...

I had bought a similar cross-drilled set (Power Stop Evolution Drilled & Slotted Rotors AR8310XPR) awhile ago at Summit, haven't installed them. They are no longer available.

Stoptech is great, I run them on most of the race cars. They are an OEM manufacturer, so quality is high. Careful of PowerStop. Pure garbage. I've had rotors that didn't survive a 20 minute session on the track.

To Dan's earlier argument....Sounds like Ferrari. Maybe we should all just ditch our 6 piston calipers and 14-13 discs and go back to a wel lsorted out 9" drum set up.

My factory single piston brakes feel like butt compared to ALL of my multi piston stuff. I (very successfully) road race and auto cross ALL of my cars.

When I got my 67 Dart in 2008, the K-H disks and rear 10" drums felt hard as a rock, and did not stop the car very well. After driving the car for a few hundred miles I decided that the brakes needed to be rebuilt. Several pistons were stuck on the old K-H calipers causing uneven pad ware, others were weeping so I ordered rebuilt calipers, new master cylinder, and all the fix'ens for the rear 10 inch drums. The car stopped much better, but over the next 10 years ( about 20K miles) braking ability degraded. That and the front hubs had worn such the inner wheel bearing race was not tight necessitated new knuckles.

So last year I called up Doc Diff replaced everything bolt pattern, 15" wheels and wider tires, upper control arms, knuckles, ball joints, 15/16" master cylinder, new axle in the 8 3/4, installed B body single piston 11 3/4" up front, and late 1994-2004 Mustang Corbra rear caliper and 10.7" rotor with e brake capability. The car stops much much better. Brake feel is good, and easy to modulate. I'll never bother with expensive K-H 4 piston disks on an A Body.

I haven't autoX anything since the 70's when I had a 59 Bug Eye Sprite, and won't ever run this car even though it has a cloned Formula S suspension. She's a nice cruiser.

I don't doubt your observations one bit, but with all the changes/variables to arrive at a your satisfactory shared result, it would IMO be hard too disprove the result was say by just only by using a new more suitable front pad, also with the consideration the rears add little to the braking situation, as long as one is able to provably, lock up the fronts first.

I’ve had drilled and slotted power stop rotors on my wife’s Honda Ridgeline and they cracked top to bottom on braking surface only ( not the rotor hat though ). I could feel a heavy thump. I got about 40,000 mostly highway miles out of them.
Factory Honda rotors have lasted as much as 100,000 miles for me and stopped just as well.
Power Stop says made in USA but then says it has over seas partners.
Code for made in China to me.
I haven’t dealt with the stop tech rotors yet, but I’d keep an eye on the cheaper drilled Chinese rotors, as with any off brand parts you’d try out.
Sometimes they work out admirably, sometimes not so much.

Thanks Dan-o, I haven't installed the PowerStop's and now I'm circumspect about doing so....
