Lou is right. I did not know about the tubular strut rods until I called. I asked for the aluminum rod ends, and he asked ME if I wanted the complete rod, and I said "sure". He is easy to talk to, and very free with his time and advice. |

Tubular control arms are constructed in in Ron Champion's 'Build a Sports car for 250(British pounds)'. Building your own does not appear to be very difficult, easy to weld mild steel was used in the book, 4130 or some stronger and lighter steel might be used(but requires a TIG or gas welder). I'd like to attempt to build my own parts like this because I want to acquire these skills. I'm sure the control arms help handling if the geometry is improved, I don't know alot about the proper way to set up the suspension. Keep us informed on the rules of good handling. |
