It feels like quicksand. At first I though "No way Im getting pulled into that slanted sickness!" Yet here I am...about knee deep and no sign of rescue. |

Looks like we got us some crew for the Barber race comin’ up! Dr. & Mrs. Gonzo (aka the Padgetts) and Mr. Norm Foster are gonna be hangin’ out with us. Too cool!  Adam got the dash bar welded into ToadRacer and got the harness bar positioned and tacked in today. |

Just a couple more days before we get to race a patina'd '64 Valiant Signet powered by the Leaning Tower of Power all weekend long with friends and about 100 other sketchy cars with inexperienced drivers... What could go wrong? Wait!! Don't answer that! 2018 - The air cleaner bolt vibrated loose, got injested, and bounced through most of the 6 cylinders. It eventually took out #2 piston. So we disabled that one and kept racing most of the weekend. We would have been a shoe in for the Index of Effluency (IOE) award, but late Sunday afternoon the poor engine had finally had enough and we couldn't limp it to the checkered flag. 2019 - The new Ford hybrid type clutch failed early on. We raced the whole weekend by starting it in gear, grinding gears up to fourth and then leaving it there around the track. It sort of became just something you deal with to race. At the awards ceremony Sunday evening we were surprised to win IOE. 2020 - Place yer bets, y'all!!

2020 - Nothing serious breaks, and you have 4 gears for the whole race. There's no cheaty TR8s or Dart sedans in your way. Class C winners! |

Class C win would be a very cool and natural progression! I got my racing suit all sewn up with the new bling for the race. (Dudefladge is a silly nickname my son Andrew [now 25] gave me when he was probably 5 or 6...) Yep, Pig Pen hooked me up with Nomex thread too..
