That's the way I always took it. Doesn't matter where you race. It's where you live that counts for East/West.

I'll change Seymour's color from blue to red in the Championship thread. I had asked the question, but never did get an answer. Killer Bees it is.

I'm with Seymour as well - it depends on where you LIVE, not where the races are you attend. So, I gained 1 point by going to Kearney...

Yes, even playing field is best, as Dennis says... I will shortly start a thread to discuss some rule issues, so stay tuned.

Yes, points are not counted as East/West, BUT the West had more races on their schedule, hence more chances to gather points.

Have the same number of races on each side of the Mississippi, count all the points, and let the chips fall where they may.

Easy for me to say since I don't chase points anyway.

By my count, the East has 2 more points races to gather points than the West.

For team points, two day races count racers for each day?

That I would not agree with. Go for total number of racers that compete that weekend, but count each once. Is that the way it's being done? Counting the same racer twice at the same event isn't right.

My take.

I believe everyone can get a set of the Slantsix Org rules(they are posted on this website).
It really doesn't matter how many races the East or West has..because the points are only compiled on your best 4 races of the 7 races that you choose to qualify. The benefit of racing more than 7...would be "for fun" ..or to keep others from receiving points :x .

the West is planning on having 2 day races in 2012.

Nice rundown, PJ. We will look at the rules around the 7 race limit and such for next year.

Slant on!

And I can't even seem to be able to make it to just ONE race each year!

When does your son start driving? How about 2 cars and 2 drivers for next year????

That's what the original complaint was, that you can only gather points at 7 races to pick the best 4 out of.

With the new 2-Day race formats (for both East and West) it should make it possible for more people to compete in more events.

This and other discussions (eg. 1/8th mile records on 1/4 mile pass, etc.) have historically been hashed out at the annual awards banquet in TN and decisions made there. However, I think this is the best format now to discuss it and get it mostly worked out since Killer Bees are not represented at the banquet in TN.

Those racers that aren't on the forum can be contacted for their opinions at races, telephonically, regular mail...

Ideas, opinions...?

Andrew has been driving. I asked him if the whole "car thing" really interested him and he admitted that it wasn't really his thing. He'll do it because he knows I love it so much, but I'm certianly not going to press him on it.

I would like to think we'll have the GodsRods outreach ministry up and running by next year, but I've thought a lot of things lately...

If the East has 10 potential points gathering races and the West has 8 potential points gathering races, then limiting point gathering races to 7 makes the competition equally fair.

Also limiting race score points to ones 4 best races allows for some degree of fairness to those who just cannot attend more than 4 races.

It would be kind of nice to have a moderator move all the rules items we are discussing to a new "rules" post. Then Elk creek can be about Elk Creek. Just my opinion.
