Update- My brother was able to procure me the proper super six kickdown rod. He’s on Facebook, I am not. ![]() However—I am STILL missing part of the mix. ![]() I do not have the proper transmission lever…and to be honest,I’m not sure what I am looking for. This is my current transmission setup ![]() This seems like it would be a generic item…not specific to the super six. But it’s not what is stock on my 1973. What exactly is the called? Anybody out there have one they don’t want anymore?;) Thanks |

Second picture the one on the right is the right one. My Research indicates that starting with 1974 that was a design change in the kickdown linkage that part was standardized after that we're both 1 and 2 Barrel carburetors 904 trans. 1973 and back two different part numbers depending on body style. Probably had to do was tunnel clearances. |

This is what you got now look at Part group 21 - 142 - 0 illustration number 21 - 142 - 12 transmission control lever sometimes called throttle control lever and sometimes just lever . Two different part numbers depending on model. That picture with the Dots The one on the left is from 1972. Part number 3751 551 is the one on the right first showed up in 1974 slant 6 and 318 with 904 trans. Same number is used with slant 6 2 Barrel carbs. Same part number was used both cars and trucks up to at least 1983. Junkyard confirmed. |

Not exactly on Center there but that's close enough, scan it's from a truck parts book |

Matv91- So much great info. Very helpful for hopefully many people. Given your info, I was able to source a 1bb kickdown rod with transmission level (original picture shown) from a 79 Duster/Volare. This is post 74 when they standardized. I already received the 2bbl rod—it did NOT include the lever. So within a few days I should have all the pieces for final assembly and can post some more info and pictures. Never realized the transmission levers changed that much through the years. Looking around online turned up surprisingly few options for levers on the 904. I would imagine if you used a cable setup it really wouldn’t matter. Thanks. |
