Hey Ron your actions speak for themself, but did you do it in a 40+ year old Dart with orginal 904 and a howling 7.25 factory ratio rear and a motor last overhauled in the Nixon admistration, complete with all the vintage grim and oil leaks possible? We call this condition"LA Chic". just befuddles all those riceburners we have here to no end.

Silly me. I thought the SS/AA and SS/A Hemi cars were running in the 8's in the 1/4 and weighing 3000#'s +.... What did the little arrow weigh? Don't compare street cars to race cars Ron.

By the way nice run Charles!

Yes, the SS Hemis are way faster, but their bank accounts are way emptier than Charles'.

I know a lot of guys with big motor cars who wish they could run 9.90 on what Charles has in that Arrow. :D

Hell, I know a lot of big motor guys who wish they could run 9.90 at all.

$50K will buy you a running SS/AA car capable of 8.90's. I know we have that much or more in the Simca so what do you think Charles has spent on his car?

Hey Guest i dont recall any SS/A Hemi cars Are any Hemi cars that raced drive to the strip. So you are saying the Hemi SS/A or other Hemi cars that are driven to the track can go into the 8ths i dont think so let it go it was just a statement. Gt 63 hell im racing a stock block eng that the bottem end had 85000 miles on and then put 5000 miles on it down the strip. Two years ago i disconceted the speedometer so the car has probally got 7000 miles of drag strip time on and ran the fastest it has ever run the past weekend. Ps i do a lot of maintenance on the car chang the oil twice a season and spark plugs.

If you can build a AA car that will run 8.90's for 50K there are a lot of guys out there who will beat your door down, buddy. The absolute cheapest legal AA car I have seen lately went for 65 and it wouldn't run 8.90 if you threw it out of a helicopter.

I would wager that Charles has less that 30 in his car, and maybe less that 25. He told me once what he gave for the car and it left a lot of change for a drivetrain at 25.

I love the Hemi engine i watched it race since the first one raced but i guess i will shut up before the Max/Wedge people say they drive there cars to the strip. I need some help here Bagel . Possum Parker. :D :D

1) I did not say build....I said buy.

2) There are lots of "clones" out there made for NHRA/IHRA racing that routinely sell for $50K running.

3) I can drive you to one(clone) now that they only want 48.5K for I know it has run 8.95.

4) How many motors has he gone through in the last two years?

SMALL BLOCK CHEVY!!! Say it aint so. Gunpilot will just have to correct that mistake on his.

Mr Larry Rife Had a bad Accident at Clay City two years ago and it was in a ss/a Hemi Cuda clone. He also had a true ss/a Hemi Cuda that was for sale in National Dragster i called and asked about Larry and why he was selling the car at that time he wanted 70k for the car. Does anybody know where this car went Thanks Possum Parker. Hey Tom Ithought you wanted cash if all you want is a check just tell me how much you need no problem aint nothing for me to cut a check. I bank at the Bagel Bomber Bank Of Illinois. I am a personal friend of the president of the bank and He can vouch for his credit. Mr Dennis Bagel Bomber so a check is no problem. So just how fast can you go :D :D

i can bag a bagel faster than he can bag a possum

48.5 isn't too far under 50, and will it go through teardown? If it will ya better buy it and drag it up here for the Shootout at Indy.

Tom, you're in a pretty fragile glass house to be chunkin' rocks at Charles about motors aren't ya? Especially when you have twice as much in your car as he does.

Do I sense some hostility that he waxed yer azz into the 9's?

Possum, yur credit is good as long as ya got a co-signer.

I think it is great that he went into the nines. Did I ever say we were shooting for first in the nines?? Have I ever posted that? Considering the fastest we have ever run is 10.46 we are a long way away from running nines. Sure we would like to but that is a long way off unless some TurboEFIMethanol guru falls from the sky and starts telling us the optimal tune-up.

I was in no way ribbing Charles about motors. He has done a great job running what he has and has shown he is willing to put both the time and effort into getting there. He deserves it! He has also garnered more publicity for slant six racing and this will just help the cause. I hope he (or anyone) shows up at Clay City and lays down a 9.80. The fastest they run the more attention it draws to /6 racing.

I was addressing the fact that someone posted a "slant 6 ran nines and even the hemi cars could not do that... my only point was don't compare a race car to a street car.

How about this... a 207ci 6 cylinder just ran 7.98 in the 1/4 and was the first stocker to run in the 7's. A 122ci 4 cylinder has run 8.90's in the 1/4. Kinda of makes 8.90 from a Hemi look like childs play huh?

Tom :D

PS - We take checks only if they come in cash.
