It seems fine to me never had any issues except when I forgot to tighten the hat bolt enough and boost pushed the rubber gasket out.

Update 2013

Fuel system upgrades are done I added a 8 gal fuel cell and a aeromotive A1000 fuel pump and new fuel feed line and a 390hp holley annular boosters that was flow tested at 530 cfm done by Eric at HPI.
I have to leak test the fuel system today and if all goes well I'll check and relash the valves and dail the timing in and ill be able to fire the TOAD up for the first time of 2013
Corn feed and corn breed!

Yesterday I dropped the new dizzy in(thanks dusteridiot) and without even messing with the timing the toad fired right up I didn't have much time to do any kind of tuning or even set the timing but ill say one thing the TOAD sure seams to like the corn the car sounds crisper and there is a distinct cleaner smell. I probably won't have much time today to get anything done but in the next couple days I'm hoping to start with some boost tests ill keep everyone posted and you will get some video Stay tuned

Mike thanks for the interest and the kind words sometimes I wonder why I update these threads, but it's because of members like you thanks for being patient.

I got the car off the jack stands yesterday and got the cold side plumbed back in and did some minor tuning and timing adjustments. And of course that means a short blast down the road. I'll say one thing I'm not sure if anyone member is running E85 But my turbo slant LIKES the CORN and what a difference in sound and spool up time.

Unfortunately I ran out of daylight but i made a good pass down the road I built a solid 12psi of boost and afr were rock solid at 12.0 into and thru boost it still needs some more tuning but this new carb is so responsive I don't see myself having much problems getting it dailed in.
The weather here in Michigan is supposed to get colder again this week but that will give me sometime to get my boost controller and my megasquirt hooked up then we'll have some fun....

Well after reading all 20 pages of build thread in one sitting last night :shock: I didnt find some of the detail on the E85. In both you stated that you converted to E85 but no details as to the changes to run it. One of the reasons I looked was because running the PSI and 12 on the WBO2. Does the wideband just read the same using E85 or is there different numbers to look for? As in if gas is 14.7 then what would E85 translate to? I hope im getting this out right :oops: Dont stop updating either, this makes those of us with dreams see it can be done! :D

Widebands either read lambda or a reading based on 14.7 : 1 being stoichiometric.

I think you can change some of them to read whatever the stoichiometric ratio is ( 9,10 ..... whatever).

If your not running gasoline, it's probably better to use lambda.

Hay Tom how's things going yes the 12.0 is still alittle bit lean but this is with only minor tuning pretty much out of the box from Eric
It's my understanding that AFR's regardless of fuel type work off of a common number called Lambda. A value of 1.0 in Lambda represents the stoich for any fuel. Gasoline is Lambda 1.0 at stoich. E85 is Lambda 1.0 at stoich.

So regardless if I'm running gas, or ethanol other then the number representation on the wideband being different from gas to ethanol, so if I'm looking for 11.4 on gas im looking for that same 11.4 on ethanol or 7.61 on a ethanol scale

You may no better then me but the information im using is from members from the Turboforums, yellowbullet, and some of the E85 forums

That's handy to know, as long as I can quit thinking afr and think in terms of lambda then it wouldn't matter if I fill w a tank of gas and then following week a tank of E85. Grant once tuned for one of them being primary fuel then the other wouldn't be exact but my LC-1 showing lambda would let me know how far I'm off. Keep us posted with the results and maybe an overview of running w E85, the more info the more we can refer to build threads. Ugh, can't wait to get home and wrench, but I am tax free being here :shock:

I just wanted to make sure you were aware of the differences. I know Lamda/stoich is 1.0/14.7.....It doesn't show to well on my posted chart.

I'm off work the next couple days so I should have some time to get some garage tune time and some light load pulls its supposed to be cool here for the next four or five days.
I hope to have my megasquirt all wired in as well and hope to beable to do some creative stuff with the unit.

Nice build Aaron! How's the car running? I'm in Clawson and have been working on my Scrapyard Scamp getting bugs worked out for Car Craft Nats. Love the Slant turbos, drop me a note if you need Megasquirt help.
