| Post subject: | Drum vs Disc UCA's question |
I'm in the middle of a disc brake conversion on my '74 Scamp and I was planning on reusing my Upper Control Arms but now I'm reading that I need the UCA's from a disc brake car. For some reason I thought the drum and disc UCA's were the same. Is this correct? I have the steering knuckle and sliding caliper adapters from a '74 Scamp. Thanks |

I'm pretty sure the control arms are the same. The ball joints may not be. |

73-76 A-body UCAs are all the same. Pretty sure BJs are too, but check rockauto.com to verify. Lou |

The references I have specifically say the 73-76 a body Disc brake knuckles will bolt up to the ball joints that were stock on the 73-76 a body drum brake cars. You use the UCAs and the LCAs from any 73-76 abody including the ball joints. That said there is only one set of ball joint numbers listed for the 73-76 abody. k 772 upper (both sides), k 781 lower right side, and k 783 lower left side. That sure is simple compared with the 72 and earlier As |
