Saturday, while Aaron was taking his ACT exam, I got his car set up at a local show as part of the 125th birthday celebrations for Temple, Texas. He finished his exam and came over to join me, enjoying watching folks stop by to inspect his Dart Sport that took three years for us to complete. It was very satisfying to get it out for the public to see all our hard work. The icing on the cake was when it was announced that he won 2nd place in the MOPAR classification, being beaten by a very nice '69 AMX. Here are the pics I took at the show: We hope that this is just the beginning of many more to come. We are going to get some much better photos to post, later. Jerry |

I remember when you guys were just in the stages of welding the entire back half from another car onto that one. That was the car right? It is looking incredible now! That's a lot of hard work right there. |

Patrick, You're absolutely correct. My wife had her doubts about us ever getting it completed, but I never did. I will say that I never thought it would take this much work, but neither Aaron nor I are willing to do something halfway. Once all the rust was discovered, we were committed to dealing with it.

The car looks great. Is the grill painted black? |

Yep, we thought it would look better (and go with the matte black stripes) to black it out with a low luster finish. We did the same with the filler panel between the rear bumper and body. The entire undercarriage is also black with undercoating, including the rear wheel wells, instead of body color. Ditto for the frame rails and outside surfaces of inner fenders and radiator support. Oh, yeah, the trunk is black undercoating, too. Lots of black to accent the bright Viper Race Yellow. None of the pictures I have posted, taken with my el cheapo digital camera, do this color justice. We plan to have some quality photos done by someone capable, very soon. Then you will get a better idea of the impact this car makes going down the road. We get a lot of stares and thumbs up. Jerry |
