Howdy,

Well, frustration at the growing list of small stuff I've been doing in lieu of the more important bits I want to be doing finally hit a peak. With some chronic fuel delivery problems at last deduced and corrected, Saturday I (at long last) popped on the "Super Six" I've had waiting in the wings for several months.

All in all a fun cobble, I'd butchered a thinwall one barrel aluminum manifold to mount a BBD turned sideways. That way I could keep Toad's torque shaft throttle linkage and it would yield a slightly more even intake distrubution as well.

Nice work indeed! I didn't spot the referent on emsvitil's question about the alternator. Why'd you block off the heat riser?

More correct top radiator hose for your 225-equipped '62 is a Gates 20450.

Thanks gentlemen,

Got the 2 1/4" pipe and flow-through muffler in yesterday (looks like a sidewinder with sunstroke, not much room under a toad) to complete the package and the improvement in mid and top ranges is very pleasant. Scoots right on up to 100 now without complaining and holds open freeway speeds 75/85 (on those rare occasions traffic's running) comfortably.

The heat riser shunt is arched to echo the curve of the bottom side of the manifold throat (hopefully for a slightly better flow) and brazed in to seal it up without having to fuss with a gasket. Hand choking and just being in SoCal cover the warm-up process satisfactorily for me.

I'll move the alternator so I can run heater hosing to the inner fender and back from there more easily when I put the "in-cabin" heater/defroster in later in the year.

Some electrical changes and a bit more rear spring for toting things this year, and next year I should be able to get to the cosmetics.............and back to Cassi as well.

Dan, thanks for the hose ref, I'll go get one. I've made do with that one long enough.

I used some off brand high temp exhaust paint I had sitting around, and tossed the can when I emptied it so don't know which one to avoid. It's already looking like it'll want to be repainted before too long.

Finished up the project with the 2 1/4" pipes and flow-through muffler. Also decided to change the rocker box back from the Clifford to a tidied up stocker, looks more in keeping with the rest of the stuff.
