12/09 - Spent 4 hours at the paint store selecting a paint system for my engine compartment. Finally decided to go with a Dupont urethane Chromabase system. Red is the most expensive color. I went with the orginal color, but PP1, red, for a '67 Barracuda is only sold in lacquer. I had it mixed in the urethane using a cross-referenced formula for the 68 Barracuda. It turns out to be the same color as the '67 12/10 - Began spraying the primer/sealer after breakfast. Started the color coat by lunch, and by dinner I had sprayed 4 clearcoats. http://pages.prodigy.net/lasergame/_wsn/page8.html |

JAN 25th..dropped my engine and transmission. The engine and tranny bolted up nicely. With advice from this board I was able to drop without too many difficulties. After bolting on the transmission, and checking all of the bolt torques, I was ready to "slap" this baby in. Since I spent so much time in the paint job, I was very careful not to scratch the paint. Just one little nic in an area that is covered by the fender so it won't be seen later. I can't wait to hear it run. It will run for the first time in 15 years. yea!! http://pages.prodigy.net/lasergame/_wsn/page9.html |

| Post subject: | It Started!!! |
FEB 8th - Car Started...yea!! It sounds real cool with the Dutra Duals, and no pipes attached. http://pages.prodigy.net/lasergame/_uimages/car2.bmp Spent this last week tracking down some ignition problems, and found the points, and condenser needed to be replaced. Heck, the only thing I didn't replace was the ballast resistor. I replaced the voltage regulator twice, I found a ground fault in the wiring, after I chased that problem down, I finally turned the key, and... http://pages.prodigy.net/lasergame/_uimages/car3.bmp Varooommm!!! The car started right up without any hesitation. It is real loud, and the idle came right down and purred with it's mild cam "loping" very nicely. The last time this car's engine ran was in July 1987. http://pages.prodigy.net/lasergame/_uimages/Car.bmp Back to sanding the body this next week, so I can get it painted next month. |

Well it has been a long time since I posted to this forum. Alot has happened, but the biggest thing to happen was our move from Seattle to Northern Virginia. I started working on my car again. I promised that I would have completed it several years ago...This poor car has been trailered from Seattle to Los Angeles and back, and then we shipped it to Virginia. One of these days I might even be able to drive it more than around the block. Here are some pictures of my new exhaust. I have finally hooked up to my Dutra Dual set-up. I used the original back half of the original stock manifold, with the casting, that Doug sent me several years ago. |

Bob, you're doing a lot better than me. I took my Duster apart in 2002 for a "quick paint job". It's still a bare shell on a rotisserie with a bazillion dollars of parts laying around. |

I thought I was the only smart pants that fell on that stupidity... there's no such thing as a quickie when it comes to a mopar frantic tearing appart the car for a "quick paint job".
