Have built up /6 using a offy intake and 625cfm Carter. Once started up the engine runs fine and takes the fuel, however, it always wants to flood at start up. Choke is locked open, carb leaned down, and without pumping gas prior to start up I get liquid fuel in intake. New carb which seems to perform fine after start up. Anyone have/had this problem? Any comments or help appreciated. uscl@staffing.net |

Reassemble and recheck the float level. It is not uncommon for a "new carb. to develop a "leaky" needle valve if it has been sitting on a shelf for a long time because the smallest piece of lint or dust stuck on the needle - seat sealing surface will allow fuel into the carb when it's not needed.
