| Post subject: | 67-69 Dart rear bumper? |
Hello I faced a problem installing bumper guards to my Dart '67. I found a used set of guards and heard rumors that they were taken from 69 Dart GT. The front guards fitted very nicely but the rear ones seem not to fit at all. As seen in the image, the hole in the bumper is clearly in different place than the hole in the guard bracket. I'm quite sure these are the rear guards, because they are a bit larger than the front guards. ![]() With little detective job I found out that 1967 Dart, Coronet and Charger rear guards look very similar. I have seen some guards using some extra bracket with stud for retaining. Can anyone say are these guards from another car or do I need some kind of bracket or should I make a bracket myself? Does anyone have guards from Dart in shelf to compare? |

2768 662 is the part number for the '67, '68, and '69 Dart rear bumper guard. Left same as right. Keep in mind that if your Dart was not originally equipped with bumper guards, it will not be drilled for them. A different bumper was used with vs. without guards. You will have to drill the appropriate holes if you want to use guards with a non-guard bumper. |

Ok, then I have the right guards. I have the 1967 Chrysler Passenger Car Parts Catalog, and the same number can be found from there. So the bumper is different, that's what I needed to know. Or is the bumper same, but extra holes were drilled in assembly line? Maybe I dare to drill some holes, because old bumper is very ugly. Many thanks from the help. |

The guards fitted quite nicely after two 3/8" holes. At least when you look from the distance.
