With the help I got here, I tackled replacing the front end (Balljoints, Bushings etc. etc.) and now she's back on the road and driving great. Went to Hibdon's Tire for the alignment. Thier alignment machine only went back to 1976 cars, so I picked the 76 valiant specs for them to align it to. Does that sound like it would be much difference from the 65 barracuda? Anyway it drives great. Hmmm, while I was under the car, I noticed that the engine (oil pan) was resting on the crossmember. Guess motor mounts are next. Bye the way, anyone see the 64 valiant in July's "Hot Rod" mag. Outran a 350 camaro and 86 charger in the autocross. Terry M. Cuda-Lane@att.net |

You probably only need to replace the passenger side mount. I slipped a 1/4" thick washer under mine to get a bit more clearance. Chuck webmaster@omnipages.com |

Cool, see that wasn't so bad. It's not something I'd want a steady diet of, but with a modicum of maintenance it'll last for years. Schumacher's has trick little motor mount shims in varying thicknesses for just such a situation. They are cad plated with gold iridite. Very professional-looking. Quote:
