How much can safely be milled off the top of the block, while retaining block strength? Thanks sschultz@telusplanet.net |

: My guess: More than an inch off an iron 225 : block. (sounds like a "do it yourself" 170) =: - o I have taken .150 off the block deck, no problems. Remember that the Alm 225 has *no* top deck but yes, those have head gasket sealing problems. One little trick is to plug deck holes, flip the block up-side-down and use some block filler to help back-fill the deck area. (just an inch or so thick, it get's real hot up there so don't get crazy with the filler) DD |
