82' D 150 Lean Burn. My vac amp is not providing vac to my EGR valve. Is there a simple way to test the vac amp? I don't have a vac gage. An explanation of how this vac amp sys works would help. Thanks |

I don't know the answer to your question ; however , I know that for years people have been swapping out the "lean burn" for a standard electronic ignition system. I work as a tech at a chrysler dealership , and was told by the old veterine's that it was a very common swap that was performed back in the day as the lean burn system is "junk". That being said , I've also heard alot of people on boards such as this say "the first thing I would do is get rid of that lean burn" |

Squeek, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I live in CA. where swapping out the lean burn cannot be done. Vehicle must retain all original smog equipment even if altering it would improve emissions. |
