Post subject:  Pushrods

I'm planning to order a set of pushrods from Smith brothers next week. My question is this. Should I move up to 3/8 pushrods or stay with the 5/16" ?? There is only a $1 ($9 vs.$10) difference in price. They are going in a .030 over, 9 to 1 engine, with .528 / 284 duration cam, 4 barrel and big valve head. 4-speed OD. with 4:30 rear.

They also have aluminum for $11/ each

Thanks for your help.

Rick

If they say the aluminum ones are as strong as the 3/8 steel, then I personally would get those for less moving mass. I have the MP cut-fit 3/8" pushrods in both my motors and they are rock solid.

Post subject:  Length

Thanks for the replies. I was just going to order stock length, which is what I'm running now. But is there a good rule on what length to order? It seems like I remember something like, a certain amount of threads showing on the adjusting screw or something like that??

Thanks again,
Rick

I don't know for positive what it's supposed to be, but it's not very many. Something like 1-1 1/2 threads showing below the rocker.
