Yah, Get the best flowmaster you can afford. Noone can compete unless you can live with the sound of a glasspack. I run a glasspack, but I will also be running a turbo very very soon.

So the Dart needs a new exhaust. Found a hole too big to patch. Figured I'd go ahead and do the performance stuff on the exhaust since it's gotta be done. Was thinking the Clifford dual outlet headers and dual Flowmaster 40s with 2 1/4" pipes and 2" tailpipes to keep enough backpressure to maintain low end torque. Sound good to you guys? |

I was told by the shop that did my exhaust pipes to the 225 (through dual outlet clifford headers) that unless I'm doing something out of ordinary for that engine like a turbocharger, a single 2 1/4" pipe would be plenty enough. That is what I ended up doing, with a DynoMax SuperTurbo muffler. Supposedly those mufflers are the closest you can get to straight pipe/glasspacks without the noise. I personally hate loud exhasuts, and this setup preforms fairly well while still keeping the noise levels relatively low. |

Only thing I'm really likely to do is up the compression as much as I can and port the head. Then an EFI conversion with a K&N cone filter, so I would guess all together it could take advantage of it decently.That and I just LOVE Flowmaster mufflers for their sound (while still not obnoxious) and flow rates. |
