8) I have a 66 Dart GT that wants to wallow thru the coners. I read in the car mags that I can get one for about $119. I talked to the local Les Swab and two problems: 1-Their cost for the part is over $200 and 2- the guy says theres no place to hook one up on my model :( Whats up with that?? Anybody know something about my year/model that will help :?:
Thanks
Allen

The oem frt sway bars for the early a-bodies attach to the frt of the frt x-member. The x-member can be drilled and tapped on the car, with a rt angle drill. The lower control arms had tabs welded to them that attached to the links which connected to the ends of the sway bar.
Most of the aftermarket sway bars have pretty mickey mouse attaching hdwe, so be prepared to have to reengineer them and fab up something better.

I put aftermarket Addco anti-sway bars on my '69 Barracuda about 5 years ago. I don't recall having any difficulty. (Maybe the memory has softened with time  ). I got them from JC Whitney. They now sell Hellwig bars for $119.95 a kit and I believe this is also a good brand. I'm pretty sure "kit" means front and rear. They also list your car. I can tell you that anti-sway bars dramatically improve handling!

I have a '66 too. I put on just the front bar from Addco (around $100) and while it bolted up with no problem, the brackets really hang too low. I managed to scrape them on a very deep depression in the pavement. So I'd bend the brackets that mount to the K member into an L shape. But other than that, there is no trouble with the aftermarket kits. And I highly recommend using one at each end.

i used front and rear bars from PST on my '70 swinger and boy oh boy does that thing handle! :D the mounts are pretty $#!+- the front especially. i've been too lazy to do anything about it though! i tried grinding them some but they still seem to bottom out in certain driveways and some speedbumps :x

I'm sorry to inform you, Bob, that aftermarket sway-bar "kits" are just the front or rear sway bar, end-links, and other mounting hardware....doesn't include front and rear. I need to get front/rear sway-bars soon myself.
