I got a ton of good parts from the junk yard including the emissions junk. I decided to add a component or system at a time, that way if it screwed up the running, I would know the culprit. Anyway, I added the vapor canister and associated hoses and the air cleaner components and hoses. I noticed the temperature sensor is bad and needs to be replaced. It still starts hard and it ran terribly. I adjusted the idle mixture screw (it had been previously adjusted) and noticed that it was now running very lean. It now runs great and I will see how the cold start goes. Here is my question though, if I yank off the hose to the canister purge or the hose to the air cleaner, I don't feel any vacuum at either port. Shouldn't I feel that. BTW we are in TEXAS and they require the stuff to be connected but they don't check tailpipe emissions. Thanks.
