Just saw on Classracer that Mike set the national record at Kearney yesterday. Haven't spoken to him yet, so I'm not sure how low he got it. Congrats buddy, really wish I was there. |

Woo Hoo! Way to "Represent"! But now that makes it harder for other Slant 6ers in that class, right...? |

Charlie, record was at minimum, so he only had to go about .9 under to set the record. Rob, yeah, it makes it harder on all none of them. |

Charles Meyers bought a third Mirada to build himself a Slant 6 powered one. Wouldn't that be cool to see Charles (First in the 9's) and Mike (First in the 10's) goin' at it head to head in Slant 6 powered Stockers!? Hey Charlie Schmid! You should start playin' with Stock Cars again too. |

Quote: Hey Charlie Schmid! You should start playin' with Stock Cars again too. I had enough of NHRA BS, 30 years ago, and from what I see on class racer dot com, it is worse now. I could go out and buy two "NEW" trucks, for what it costs to build a "stocker". Plus, "STOCKER", Yeah, right. Those cars have more special parts then my race car. The racing I do, is bracket racing, where I dial my own E.T. and build a car I can afford, and race where I can afford. Stock eliminator racing is bracket racing, where NHRA tells you what to dial (unless you dial faster), With a car that I could not afford, unless I hit the lottery, and have to spend money to travel to races that are no where near me (sounds like slant six races Now see what you did? You got me started ranting. |

Charlie, that is only true if you want to run AAA through G Stock. You can still build an affordable car in the lower classes and have just as much fun. Index only comes in when you have a heads-up run, and when there is little chance there will be another car in your class, that becomes irrelevant. I'm not sure Mike has ever had a heads-up run in eliminations. There's only a couple other V/SA cars around him, and he can kill both of them heads-up. Take those guys on Classracer with a grain of salt. AHFS has already taken care of 90% of the stuff they whine about. They just find new things to whine about. Most of the whioners don't even have race cars. Mike won the Aeromotive Low Qualifier award for Division 5 last year. How bad were the CJ's and DP's killing everyone if a Slant 6 was Low Qualifier for the season? Hell, he even had Charlie Blossom's PT Cruiser and SRT-4 Neons to deal with. 2 years ago Blossom was #1 at INDY with a car he drove to the track. Heads-up racing will always cost more money than bracket racing. That's why the eliminator IS a bracket race, and why bracket racing exists in the first place. I'm pretty sure that when the time comes Mike will work with Charles to make sure he doesn't do anything to get HP added that will hurt Charles, and vice versa. |

Quote: We missed you at Clay City this weekend Charlie and Dennis! Next year, Okay!? I don't know what I will be doing next year. I will probably have at least one slant six car, and maybe as many as three. I can do that without spending much, using parts I have in stock. But my Toyota is getting tired (374,000 miles) and every race is at least about 500 miles from me, and some money has to be diverted to normal living expenses. |
