Will I have to lift the engine at all in order to pull the oil pan off a 225 in a Dart Swinger?

You will have to lift the engine and get the steering center link out of the way, the best / easy way to do that is to drop the idler arm and turn the wheels full right.

Take a measurment off the oil pick-up to the block's pan rail, so you have a reference to reposition it upon reinstall. (after cleaning)

Any way I can support it without needing a hoist (which I don't have)?

For measuring the oil pickup, you mean for reinstalling that, or the pan? I had figured it was seperate from the oil pan itself.

You can use a floor jack from underneath, then use blocks to hold the engine up.
For the pick-up tube, you want to get it back to the same height / position in the pan so find a way to do that. Measure or make a template to go by, you don't want to have to take the pan on and off a bunch of times to set the pick-up so it hugs the floor of the oil pan.

Oh I getcha. Didn't realize the hight could be changed.

So if I jack up the engine and put say a piece of 4x4 lumber in where the engine mounts go, should I be fine?
