You will not have the bar coming down the front but this should give you an idea on where to locate it.

Hello Sages, As Some of you may realize, I am in the process of Putting an 8 Point Bar into Ruster - This is my first attempt to install any type of structural tubing into any vehicle ever. The question this time around is where to place the floor plates for the Door Bar to Terminate? Do I Put them Up real far say near where the Hi Beam switch used to be? Or closer to the Bottom of the Front door Opening? I know that I want the Door Bar to pass at a point between the Shouldder and elbow.. As Per the rulebooks. Thanks Folks, Greg |

On Project V, the guy who built it built some little gusset boxes to tie into the rocker box just where the floor flattens out below the dimmer switch. In the back, he built similar boxes where it hits the rocker box at the outer corner of the rear floor. Unless you tie to structural members (X-members, rocker boxes, frame rails) this thing won't do you much good, stiffness or protection-wise. Got it Thanks Guys. I will be putting the Plates onto the floor above the Torsion Bar Cross member as it joins into the Rocker Sill Area. This is good as so Far I have trimmed off about 8# of excess tube in my roll cage kit. - The Strut bars come real long to suit many applications. Greg |

If you run a hole saw down at the same angle as the bar you can weld the bar to the plate on top and and also on the bottom where it will come through the front of the cross member. Always good to weld tubing on both ends of sections it passes through. |
