What's the easiest/cheapest way to add some power to a stock 225? I'm going to start driving my '76 Swinger in about a year, and would like to have a little go power. Where should I start? Thanks!

IMHO--best bang for the buck:

1) give her a good tune up. Plugs, wires, cap & rotor, re-set the timing (may need a new timing set depending on the condition yours is in) fuel, air, and oil filters, change oil, set valve lash. Also, if you have points, convert to electronic ignition. Cost (minus timing set and ignition conversion) around $75 in parts/fluids

2) 2 bbl "supersix" intake and 2 bbl carb (Carter BBD very common) If you have an auto-trans then you will need the kickdown linkage for the supersix setup as well, possibly a new throttle cable. Cost: (varies, depends on how much bargain hunting you do) $200 - $300.

3) Free-flowing 2.25" - 2.5" single exhaust and muffler. Cost: $150 - $250

If you start getting ambitious there are plenty more options.
