I drove the Signet under boost for the first time yesterday. Just a few miles without any EFI re-calibrations. I was surprised that it even idled and my friends encouraged/pressured me to go for a drive.

Nothing too radical occurred, no neck break acceleration, however no stalls either. The blow off valve functioned and the turbo kicked in.

I am very happy,

Thanks again slant six friends, I wouldn't be here without the forum and your support.

Off to work on the Signet!

Would love to see some pictures and more information! would you mind a show off to another fellow Oregonian? I was going to do a 5.7l Hemi swap, but would like to finish a Turbo 170 first in my Duster.

Yes it is tuning time and the fun has began...

I think there are some photos in the Slixers Gallery. I'll post more soon.

Glad to hear my old turbo is back in action. Wait till you come to a hill and it just walks right up it with authority. What cam are you using?

Lou was on the maiden voyage when that turbo was on my slant.

Sam, your turbo done good.

I'm only at 6 lbs boost and I haven't dared take it past 1/4 throttle. It feels scary fast! I trust the dyno numbers, sort of. The shop was getting incorrect readings earlier that day and were late getting me in due to their dyno trouble-shooting. I am probably guilty of being one of those guys that thinks his car is faster than it is...

However my turbo Saab was a heavier car, but in the same HP range, but felt a quarter as fast?? It never made my wife scream, her first ride in the turbo Valiant did and to my surprise she ask to drive. She wanted to go fast too!

The cam; intake 226/440 exhaust 219/436 114 LSA by OCG #819

This is my dyno report.

My server may be at fault. I tried the second UR: and got this:

"No results found for [img]http://s1251.photobucket.com/user/Barnbot/media/photo6_zps602fa9ae.jpg.html?filters=128554417&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=0[/img]"

But, I got to see the graph anyway through Ed's post. Thanks Ed!

Wow!!! 222 RW horsepower with only 6 pounds of boost... That's impressive, but even more impressive is nearly 300 foot pounds of torque!

That computes to about 260 flywheel horsepower using the 85-percent conversion factor RWHP-to-flywheel hp that is generally accepted.

How much trouble will it be to raise the boost level to 10 psi?

That's what we're running on ours, currently, and it feels incredible.

We just added O-rings, so we'll be looking to increase it to 15 (psi) after we get some baseline figures at the strip. We also have some 1.6 rockers we want to try.

You are about to have more fun than the law allows... LOL!

Congratulations!!! :)

Do you have a chart with RPM rather than MPH
(never understood the reason for a MPH chart...........)
