Is anyone aware of a coating that can be used to seal the inside of water jackets? Seems to me this would reduce rust formation and eliminate perosity issues while improving flow at reduced tempatures

You might try Glyptal. It's used in electric motor shops as an insulator, and stands up to some pretty nasty conditions. |

I was thinking about "sloshing"( a term used to coat aircraft wing tanks with epoxy) to strengthen a head I'm working on It's the third one I've ported and each time I seem to get a little more cocky, this ones got to be getting thin in places. What I'm worryed about is a possible insulating effect? causeing the head to get hotter? any body tryed this? and what material did you use? thanks Bruce J. |

Glyptal helps with electrical insulation, but I'm not sure of its thermal insulation properties. Heat in electric motors is a big issue, of course. I have heard of some V8 engine builders using glyptal in the valley to help oil drainback. Just an idea! |
