Grassroots Motorsports, June '03 issue has a short "Competitor Profile" on a '64 Valiant Signet 225 4 speed that was entered in their $2002 challenge.

They did a little blurb on that car last year too. I'll have to pick up that issue, or maybe just subscribe!

Yeah, I'd like to subscribe too. The wife doesn't think I need yet another magazine, but ... To complicate things, they've spun off another magazine, Classic Autosports, for old cars. I'm not sure which will be better for slanters and tinkerers. Hmmm ... is that redundant? :)

I just subscribed to GRM. The spin off mag is going to be more for the older Triumphs, etc. GRM said that GRM would still be the mag of choice for the older American Iron.
I believe the '64 Valiant you are referring to was run by David Elder from here in Atlanta. He and his dad, Bill, are really into the Slant 6. I will try to get them out to some events if I can. His '64 was in primer with a red racing stripe for the $2003 challenge last month. He is running a 4 barrel and headers with an 8 1/4 sure grip and 16" Crown Victoria cop car wheels. It's a cool car and he has others as well.

Yes, the entrants were David Elder and Jason Ernst. Looks like they did a great job within the $2002 budget, and had fun in the process. The expense list tells a lot about their buildup.
Thanks for the bit about GRM vs Classic Autosports. I like GRM so far, and this issue is more hands-on than some have been.

I haven't gotten the latest issue yet. The only one I've received so far had the article on the "68(?) Valiant though. I hope I didn't miss the June issue. I want to see the Mopar stuff.
