Why is it that you void warranty on headers if you use the tape wrapping? Just curious. Whats so bad about it?I thought about wrapping mine up to keep engine compartment heat down. Its either that or I have to find some way of keeping the headers from rusting...

The wrap will hold moisture against the headers and cause them to rust. The coatings like Jet-Hot are much better, but kinda pricey.

Well these clifford shorties are rusting out anyway, slowly... so whats it matter? ;)
Jet Hot coating option on them was like $100 or $150 extra, can't remember so I opted not to do that. I think I might try my luck with some of the header paints out there

I've got jet hot on my headers....they do help keep the heat down. But it is pricey. I've heard good things about POR's new header paint. It's supposed to be great stuff.....I'll wai to see how it works on my buddies A-100. DON'T USE THE WRAP.... Those headers wont last ...I know this for sure.

I like header wrap though its a job doing it . the engine compartment is much cooler and quieter. After several hundred miles of testing I'm willing to share a tip, "hydralic cement" yea the stuff they sell in a box at the hard ware store for setting anchors in holes you drilled in concreat. header wrap has to be soaking wet when you put it on, I wraped and and clamped as normal but while everything was still wet I mixed up a series of small batches of hydralic cement very thin and wet and rubed it into the tape and you know those big gaps down by the collector that collect water, just fill them up! prop up the header and run a small hair dryer up the collector for about 32 hours . sand it to take off the high spots and coat it with 2 cans of the stuff that was suppose to seal the wrap by itself thanks to the guy from Florida who responded positively during "A Header Wrap Rap Session" ,Many people have asked me what I used to make my headers look like they do. And the cement only added about 7 pounds, worth it I think. Bruce Johnson
