I haven't been on here in years other than to read up on a few things but recently I've decided to take Hoopty to the next level.. Btw, Hoopty is our 64 A100, 225 with 3 on the tree WOOT. !
The stock motor runs really well but I'm thinking I'd like to play around a little. I have a 2bbl intake that I picked up from wvenable several years ago (time flies!) so I'm looking at just picking up a new carb for it and doing a HEI conversion. Also going install a new exhaust. My dream is to add a junk yard turbo set up... just for something different in the A world plus I really dig a good turbo sound and who knows... it might give me a little more power to get up our hill without having to downshift haha.
Just hoping I can squeeeze it all into my little doghouse!
So with all of this in mind, I need a starting point. I've read Waynes "$400 Slant 6 Turbo Setup" here on this forum an that's pretty much the direction I'm headed. I just think the junk yard set up will go perfect with what Hoopty is all about. Can anyone recommend a good HEI conversion and 2bbl carb that will go along with what I'm planning. Also I'm open to some Turbo education.. the more compact the better. If you have parts that I will need,, feel free to shoot me a PM
