Anyone weighed their '63-66 Dart? Just wondering how light I can get a '65 Dart down to within reason. 2 door post if that makes a difference. |

'66 Dart 270 hardtop with 9" drums, 185/70R13 front tires, 225/70R14 rear tires, manual steering, 225 engine, 7 1/4 axle and A904 auto trans was 2850 lbs. |

Pulling out standard stuff like interior and front (maybe rear) bumper and such should get you to 2600 w/o driver pretty easy. Gut doors and put in some lexan and do some aluminium accessories under the hood and you can get another 200lb out of it. Light wheels/tires, etc... Lou |

I seem to remember one o the killer bees had also pursued this goal and went so far as to hole saw the inner door panels and other flat sections of metal in the body that weren't reinforcement or the skin of the car... can't remember what he weighed in at... |

I think you are referring to madmax, his car weighs around 2370 lbs from some of the posts and comments I was able to find. |

If anyone wanted to know, I removed the dash frame today which didn't have the ashtray or cluster in it, 23.9 pounds. I haven't weighed the heater box yet. |

Yes, Lou..It is pretty fun to hack a piece off here and there and weigh it Too bad I often end up with rusted junk that only I would build and is really hard to remove stuff from  The upside is you can cut out rusty stuff = weight removal Today's venture was removing the roll up quarter windows. The glass, channel and associated hardware weighed in at 10 pounds. That is 10 pounds per side! I could keep a log of this stuff if anyone really wanted to know

My 1964 Dodge Dart sedan with only the seats, headliner, and carpet removed, plus an aluminum race seat, some heavy-gauge floor repairs, tow hooks, a full 6-point DOM road race cage, 11" front disc brake conversion, 1.12" torsion bars and Addco sway bar, 8.25" rear end out of a Jeep, 17" alloy wheels with 225-45-17 summer performance tires weighed in at just over 3100 lbs. with no driver and an unknown amount of fuel in the tank. I think the factory curb weight for this car was something like 2920? I should really think about adding some lightness!
