I found a relay looking part underneath the glove box in the Dart and I can't for the life of me figure out what it is. It's kinda purple in color and the part # is 2983872 and underneath is 93596-A. It's got three connectors on it and I couldn't find it anywhere in the wiring diagrams. Any thoughts? And also, how can I check the voltage regulator and condensor for the instrument panel to make sure everything's still good? |

You mean the flasher? Nope. I changed that one out just a few months ago. The flasher's a little round thing that I found under the factory radio. |

It could be a door buzzer of some sort. You didn't mention the year of the car. As far as checking the voltage regulator, I would check the voltage at the fuel gauge. One of the terminals should read about 5 volts in about one second pulses. Bottom line is that if the gauges are working, don't mess with it. |

It's a 1970, the basic Holley 1920, no-extras, 7 1/4" axle model. As far as checking the voltage regulator, I would check the voltage at the fuel gauge. One of the terminals should read about 5 volts in about one second pulses. Bottom line is that if the gauges are working, don't mess with it. The voltage regulator turned out to be the original mechanical one, so I went ahead and changed it over to an electrical using the DIY guide from Mopar Muscle. |

What year Dart? My Valiant(1975-6) have the HORN RELAY mounted on the left end of the plastic glove box. The tab on the relay fits a slot in the glove box. |

It's a '70, but it was made right at the 69/70 cutoff, so I see alot of '69 parts that work with it (such as the 68/69 instrument cluster |
