Good Afternoon to all you crazy /six fans. I've got a favor to ask of any body that has had their steering column, from a 1962 Plymouth Valiant automatic car, apart and can help me with parts and pieces with the top half assembly. A friend gave me one a few years ago and it had been modified w/ a u-joint on the bottom and I want to use the stock coupler. My car was a 3 on the tree and I want to do away with the knuckle where the lever is, so I had taken the donor one apart several years ago and now I'm not sure I have all the pieces to meld the two columns together. I have a trim collar, also the turn signal bearing section, but it appears there is a part that goes on the tube that the bearing / TS section mounts to. If somebody has a picture or service manual of this part of the column I would surely appr eciate your help. Thank you Kevan |

Hey Kevan, I will look to see if any of the old repair manuals I have show good pics of that. If so, when we meet up next week I can give them to you. |

I haven't done this, but have you thought of using a later collapsible column if you have it all apart? Just something to think about....... |
