I am trying to install my new A833 OD trans and I need some help. My truck had an A903 3 spd with a different Z-bar than what I need for my new 4 spd. Two questions: 1. Can I reuse the old ball stud that the z-bar mounts to the bell housing on the new set up? 2. Where does the new z-bar mount on my truck? I have the mounting tab for the new trans (thanks DI) but I do not see anywhere that it should mount to on the frame or cab of my truck. Will I need to change anything else with this swap. Thanks |

Thanks DI, you would not happen to know where to find one of those A833OD brackets might be located? Can I use one from a V-8 truck or car? There is a pull a part yard not far from me that has a 318 truck with a busted up OD trans. |

Will any other transmission work? NP435/445 maybe? |

I might have a couple of those at my buddies salvage yard. Thanks for all the help. Zeb |

If you haven’t had any luck finding what you need, I have a z bar and brackets from an ‘84 truck with a slant and a833 I’d be willing to part with. |

I rigged mine up with the 3 spd body mount and a z bar and bell mount. It is not pretty and not straight, but it works fine and the clutch action seems to work fine. I would like to actually see a pic of one all hooked up and working properly. |
