If that doesn't convince you, consider the time honored ones below: Or "Because everybody else is doing it" Or "You don't want to stand out, do you?" Or "It can't hurt?" Or "Because I said so" |

Would you jump off the bridge because everyone else is? |

It's interesting to see this thread.....most other Mopar people on other boards would never dare to question the need for strengthening LCA's. That's cuz they're sheep. As the other thread points out, a stock LCA is a pretty dang tough part to begin with. Do I want to add unsprung weight to my car just to make it 'stronger'? Nope. Does anyone have any sort of actual evidence that the arm is 'stronger' is a meaningful way after bracing? Nope. The LCA is anchored by rubber bushings. So...no matter how much you make it stiffer, the bushing is still gonna be flexing plenty. It's a 'feel good' mod. |

as mentioned before in the other thread just like this one....,there are other benefits besides handling! Taking the slop out of the adjuster arm and making it Alot easier to remove and replace those rubber bushings without distorting the control arms in the process. 50 year old part, and you don't think it can be improved on? P.S. -and both of them weigh less than a Diet Coke! (unsprung weight |

Maybe, but have you ever read online anybody listing all the "handing mods" that they "improved" their car with, and they often include "LCA gussets", and NEVER mention anything about slop and ease of replacing the rubber bushings, which as you kinda point out, is only once? every 50 years, besides, if one is bending the fairly robust arms changing the bushings, one might be doing something wrong. On the "slop", think that is a separate issue, and if we are talking the same thing, not sure it matters in real world conditions. We still disagree. |

If you're putting any 'flex' or bending forces on the LCA during a bushing change, you're doing it wrong. The bushing is removed and replaced, properly, with zero force being placed on any part of the arm itself. All the force is on the pivot itself...and it's wicked thick and strong. Not sure what the adjuster reference is about but it can't have any value as the stock adjuster setup needs no improvement. Any weight added to a car that is not a benefit is a bad idea. |

no stereo, no heater, no a/c, carpet, headliner? I'm not talking about race cars, and if you are worried about the weight of these, don't install them. I did and I like them, not trying to get anyone to agree, just pointing out a different view.Don't know about "slop" in the adjusters on lca's? You've probably never rebuilt any of them. |
