I received the papers from Charlie Schmid yesterday for the new records he set at Clay City. The new marks will be 9.391ET and 74.162MPH in the 1/8 mile. I will forward this information to Ryan Covalt to post on the records spreadsheet. Congratulations Charlie! |

Thank you. The original game plan, was to set the record on Fri. Run Sat eliminations on motor, only. Then up the nitrous shot on Sun and "go or blow". However carb problems prevented that. With only one day to get loaded up, I did not bring as much for parts and tools, to correct the problem, so elected to sit out Sat and Sun. PS: This car has gone 8.1x in the 1/8 with a 170. So fair warning to D/N cars. I MIGHT be back.

Thanks for the good news. Nice to have a solid D/N 1/8th record. We'll see who else jumps in...  Seymour, did you get the 1/4 and 1/8th records from Ryan from Clay City? Man, he is making progress... Seems like 10s are within reach with the Blue Valiant. Lou |

Hey Lou, I’m a little slow at getting the official paperwork done, so I have not sent my records in yet. I will try to make those records official soon. I’d love to be able to get the valiant into the 10’s. I’m hoping to do a few things to cool the intake temps down and re install Seymour’s air box to hopefully be able to run with a hood again. I think I can make some minor changes that may help the 60ft and hopefully some good air at Mason Dixon next month will get it there. 10’s are close.... |

Congrats to Charlie on breaking the D Nitrous Record! I know the car has more in it too! I’m looking forward to seeing this record lowered even more next time you have the car out. You will notice Charlie’s weight is lower than the D class limit, that is because he is running a 170 in his 66 Valiant.
