Hey Lou, your'e getting close to my 1/8 mile C/N record. Only .145 away. Are you trying to force me to come to a race in 2020, to defend it?
Congrats

Hi Charlie,

Gee, I had forgotten about that! I guess I should keep the spray on there for a while... ;)

If there is a way to coax you to Slant 6 races, you can bet I will do it! We should set it up so we set/re-set the record at the same race, eh?? I'm sure you can go faster...

Honestly, the car should have gone in the 7s in the 1/8th on 77 HP shot, but I think I ran low on nitrous and that's why it was misfiring starting around 150 ft. I just held it down figuring I'd get my first 12 sec pass i that car. Have not checked plugs yet... I did not install a pressure gauge with the system (oops) and I have not weighed the bottle. Figured I'd have enough for this race, but maybe not. I will be pulling the bottle out to run a roadcourse weekend in November, so I'll weigh it and get it filled.

Warmest wishes,

Lou

I would love to make many slant races, but it is hard on me. It is not only hard financially, but on the body. Every race is more then 500 miles from my home. I don't remember the 1/8 mile splits, but the best 1/4 mile times I have run is a 12.48 with the 225 engine C/N class, and a 12.82 with the 170 as a D/N. That's why I was disappointed at Clay City, even though I did get the 1/8 mile D/N record back. The 66 Valiant has been in the high 7's in the 1/8 but I think that was with the 225. If possible, we need to have a same track record shootout, next year.
PS: I just removed the 4 bbl and plate system, and installed the 2 bbl and fogger setup I had on the Barracuda.

Of course - understood. Let's try to coordinate on one race for next year. Ooooo, fogger... You will probably spray me away! If Dennis decides to join this fight, we should maybe both be scared...

Cheers, Lou

Sounds good, about coordinating. I need the fogger to make up for lack of engine. You have a much better base engine then I do. You've heard the saying " All throttle, no bottle", mine is "all bottle, no throttle"  .
But with a low dollar motor, I'm not afraid to use a bunch of juice. I have run as much as 225 shot on a basically stock short block. It will last long enough to get a record.

That's all I needed at Clay City. :P

My car still holds the C/N 1/4 mile record, and I think it's fairly safe.

I still have the fogger, good nitrous cam, and a head set up for the cam, so you never know...........

10.54 @ 125 MPH in a 2700 lb car looks like about 450 HP (for the 10.54)... That's only about a 250 HP shot...

I thought you said you were done with the bottle, Dennis...? :?

Yep, 10.54 is moving. Well beyond what I can do with Project V. Charlie, you lend me the fogger system and I'll build a stouter motor and...?

We can't both run the fogger at the same time. If I lend it to you, how would I be able to out run you?

Lou, just a heads-up, but you got away with one running the motor popping and banging. That's usually when pistons go bye-bye.

Over the winter Patrick is going to redo the front end on the car to make it more user friendly. Right now if I set the front end height where I want it, I can not get the toe-in set and Ackerman is horrid going backwards. I need to get the motor out and look it over, or put one of my other ones in.

I have no clue if I will actually spray it or not, but with a 150 shot I could almost put the C number in the 6's. (and probably drive over the crank)

I want to concentrate my local bracket racing on the 340 car. It has kinda gotten lost in the shuffle since I got the Valiant. I just hope it's faster than my Slant.

Thanks for the reminder, Dennis. I realized it was risky, but this motor is showing age and I really wanted a 12 sec slip this year. I will be more careful for sure next time... I do not intend to become a N2O junky, but you never know, maybe a part-timer.

Lou
