AFAIK, no. There were some 727 kits floating around.

A&A in Indianapolis might have built one as a custom deal.

I found one for sale back in 2018 on another sight, but no info on who made it.

Said it had GM TH350 splines.

Pretty sure Charles Meyer had one built for his back motor dragster. I thought he had A&A do it.

You're in custom territory for sure.

I believe Fopar used a Jeep transmission hybrid to shorten the length in his RED, but it may not be as short as you want.

That makes sense as a 904 equipped jeep would have that 904 feeding a transfer case.

Just need the great FoParian to chime in and confirm.

Just for reference, a F**D C-4 shorty is approx. 20" long and it fits.

I think CJ used a shorty Powerglide in his FED.

I found this post from 11/17/2011 by Ceeg & Fopar

That should be out of a late 80's 4x4. Not exactly sure. Fopar thinks he saw one behind a four banger jeep.

We turned that housing down quite a bit on my lathe, so it's not going to look exactly like that. I still haven't pulled the table and reinstalled the chuck. Need to do that...

Make sure to grab the transfer case and pull the front input gear. You will need that to make up a coupler. Mark Williams sells parts to make the coupler up.

Yessir. I've only got two gears though. Fopar would be your source for Brilliance and proper bits for the 904. Been a while since we built that particular solution!

A little late but that shorty kit is the one I made for the green grenade. I sold it with a bunch of small block stuff to a guy that worked for Crower. The stock 904 shaft was cut and resplined by Mark Williams and they were reasonable on the labor.
The 904 was worthless in the dragster. You could not even think about leaving it in first gear as it would wheelie big time. Powerglide is the way to go.
4:10 gear was too much gear with a 29.5 tire in our application.

Off topic, Rick, replace your front rubber a arm bump stops with some big bolts.
Adjust for zero travel, and voila, little wheelie!
