No more wiper blade refills available any more for our 1975 Darts, so I'm forced to buy the full replacement blade assemblies (15"). Anco and Trico products have plastic adapters to accept the 7mm OEM wiper arm bayonets. With the Anco 14C-15 blades, the adapters don't fit (too tight) and break easily during attempted installation. Trash that blade. Or the plastic adapter deforms and allows the whole blade to roll 90* to lay side-down onto the windshield: Carves grooves into the windshield. I've ordered some Trico "Exact Fit" 151 blades, but I think they use the same cheesy adapters that Anco uses. I'll verify that when they show up here. Question: Have any Forum members found decent reliable wiper blades other than Anco and Trico? I'm about ready to start cutting and drilling to make my own reliable strong adapters, as these are on daily drivers in Rain City, WA.. |

My preferred fix: get two Anco № 41-03 new replacement wiper arms. They're fully adjustable for correct length and blade angle, and are really well made with good, strong springs. They look right at home, they take modern blades with readily-available refills, and they work well—much better than decades-old arms with worn-out springs that don't keep the blades firmly on the glass. |

Thanks Dan, your knowledge is appreciated. Any recommendations for the Arms on a '62 Valiant or '64 Dart?... as they have the exposed bolt and a different spline arragement. Greg |

Dan, I didn't know that replacement arms even existed! Thanks for steering me (us) to that solution. P |

Same fix for the '62 and '64—those Anco arms I linked come with a nicely-made adapter for the pre-'65 wiper shaft. Click-snick, fits right on. |
