| Post subject: | One last rant |
So that new oil pump that we picked up to put into the Dart was all blueprinted, but never got reassembled (and obviously, not installed). I ordered a gear from Doug and gave him my own address twice (the envelope's return address and a note I put in with the gear I sent him), and the girl's mother puts it in a new envelope and throws away the note before sending it out, all behind my back, so it got sent to them instead. Combine that with her dad riding my ass the entire summer about the work I was doing and literally throwing tantrums when I did something he didn't know about (serious control freak and has NEVER done any real maintenence on the car, which is why so much major work was needed), plus the other stuff I've ranted here about before, AND THEN me never receiving any sign of gratitude or a single word of thanks ONCE despite the fact that I gave up my entire summer to work on the car. Now the girl tells me that her parents bitched about me leaving the oil pump dismantled and want me to drive up there and reassemble it. Now both her and I know full well that it'll never get installed in the car anyway, or I'd go ahead and reassemble it. So I told both her parents to kiss my ass. Seriously, I am DONE with that car. I honesly have lost any and all respect for both her parents because of their meddling and powertripping. Sorry to rant one last time, but good lord I can't believe the gall some people have. Frickin ingrates. Also, sorry if anyone's offended by the language, but I REALLY needed to get it out of my system. |

You oughta just offer to buy it off their hands in a couple of weeks when it sits and the dad can't handle some of the more 'mundane' mechanical work, fix it and either drive it, or sell it for a profit and get your money back for 'mental stress' recovery. I'd chill out for a while and see what 'blows by'. Personally I have a fairly high patience level, but when somebody like that rides my rear axle 'Ned Beatty' style...I get, well... mean! Anyhow, take 5 and regroup, mmmm'kay! -D.Idiot |

Jopapa, take a stress pill! I mean, whose car is it, anyway? C'mon. If it is theirs, you need to respect their wishes, no matter if you agree with them or not. From their perspective, I'd bet they think YOU'RE the meddler. You sound like a real motivated and capable guy. Save your skins and buy your own Dart, then you can do whatever the hell you want to it. When they see what a kick-ass job you did, they may beg you to work on theirs... "DW" |

But, think of all you learned. lesson 1. Don't marry into that family 2. got up close and personal which can only do you good when you start your own project. 3. next time, charge by the hour for your services, then at least his wife will be riding HIS tail, wifes hate being deprived, know mine to be jealous of the time and moneyI spend on the GT. 4 . How else are you going to meet a bunch of crazy slanters who will never ask where your chevy is. 5. With your Air Force benefits you can now give the whole family a box of prozac for christmas...Remember stiff upper lip....and as far as i'm concearned if I spilled blood I own the project....Dave |
