Hey guys, I've been accumulating parts for the T5 swap over a few years and have gotten just about everything needed. Decided to go with a hydraulic clutch set up and will get that. Here's my dilemma...I ran into some physical problems and am not able to do it myself I'm in between Chicago and Milwaukee, does anybody have suggestions on who I might be able to hire to do this? I'd really like to get it done as it's on my bucket list along with taking the Route 66 trip. |

Well, if you are swapping to a Hydro Bearing, and reputable hot rod shop should be able to do this for you. I cannot recommend anything your way. It is also perfectly acceptable to stick with the Z bar and clutch fork when using the T5. Greg |

Greg, first of all thank you for all your hard work on the T5 write up. The clutch isn't really a big deal. The cutting, welding, mounting etc... on the ground are. If I had a lift it would be easier but on the ground on stilts, just too much for me now. |

Sorry for the delay. Yes, I am. I am ASE Certified, have been working on cars for 50 years and know many techs. But this is a specific type of modification that requires (in my opinion) more than your normal mechanic can handle. I thought I could handle it (knowledge and mechanical ability wouldn't be a problem) however I should have done it a few years ago instead of waiting. Had some issues that would now hinder me to do so. Thanks |
