I bought this car July, 2003 with the intention of using it as a daily driver. My wife is pregnant and I'll need a car with a back seat.

It had a few problems when I got it - the first thing that I has to have done was the entire break system. Not safe at any speed. At the same time I had new shocks and ball joints installed, plus new bushings for the upper control arms.

My buddy that had the car had already lowered it, straight piped the exhaust and had the interior re-done (fresh seats and carpet) plus a cheapo stereo. The car runs pretty good. He had a spline installed in the drive shaft, but the guys that did it neglected to balance the drive shaft when they were finished; so I still need to get that taken care of if I ever want to drive it over 70MPH without shuttering.

The Sunday after I picked up the car I cleaned all the dirt and nastyness out of the trunk and squirted it with some blue paint that was really close to the right color. The spare is the original bias ply!

I got a new Gas Tank and Sending Unit from the guys at http://www.classiccarautoparts.com/ They had good service and the price was right (about $275, shipped) and now I have a working gas gauge!

Joe

Hey Joe how did you clean out that trunk of yours? It looks really nice and clean. My valiant's trunk is pretty bad. I tried scrubbing it with scouring pads and using a metal brush to get all the grime out, but most of it is still there.
