The father-in-law has a 74 that's been sitting for a long time. Frame is toast (he says) so it won't pass safety. I haven't had a chance to get close to it to really check it out. He says it's got a 'rebuilt' /6 (doesn't know if it's 225 or 198), but it was running last year. Would 4 door /6 cars get discs in 74? Would it be LBP or small? I'd like to get it from him if there's anything worth having on it. If I do get it, all trim type stuff and anything else I can't use will be up for grabs, let me know if/what your interested in. When I get a chance to check it out I'll do a good visual once over, get the VIN and fender tag and post more details. |

I'm looking for the engine, trans for sure. If it is LBP then the rear will stay with me and if it's got large bolt discs I'm keeping those too. Glass is up for grabs. We already had this discussion about shipping 30 year old glass but we'll see. Any body panels, trim, seats, etc that don't jive with my 68 2 door are on the block. Like I said I got to get out and look at it. once I do I'll put up more info. later |

1974 could come with: 9" small bolt pattern drums and a SBP 7 1/4" rear 10" front drums (haven't seen those in a looooong time...) Disc Brakes in LBP and a LBP 7 1/4" rear with 10" rear drums HD setup would have an 8 1/4" rear(round inspection cover with 10 bolts). -D.Idiot |

If it has disc brakes it will be LBP. If drums all around it will be SBP. 198 engines were long gone by 1974, although if it is rebuilt than anything is possible. The engine serial number is on 'ear' of the block that protrudes out behind the coil. That will tell you for sure. |

If you can (I doubt it though) take out the weatherstripping on the four doors and keep them intact, which is extremely hard, I would be very interested in it. Oh yeah, haven't signed in so just to let you know I'm ShivaDart, 73 Dodge Dart. I can't imagine the frame going bad.... that sounds unlikely because I thought the frame was a rather sizeable piece of metal... was it wrecked? Either way, if you can get that weatherstripping out safely if you get it I'd be happy to take it off your hands (: |

shiva, i dont know for sure, but im guessing its similar to my 74 valiant, with one rear leaf spring rusted through and the other started, one torsion bar partly through, and rust falling off every time we hit a bump, but it runs like a top..... |

Darn. Someone stole the frame from under my '73 Dart. I only have the unibody left. |
