Post subject:  Brake Light

I have an electrical gremlin here. All my lights work except for my driver's side brake light. Running lights and turn signal lights all work. I'm thinking that it may be the wireing. Anybody have a clue? Bye the way, I did make sure that I the bulbs work.

When you take out the bulb from the socket, look into the socket and make sure the contacts are clean and not corroded. It is possible the corrosion has crept into the harness coming out of the socket and may need replacment.

Also, clean up the area on the socket and the housing where the two meet with some sandpaper so you know the two make a good contact for a good ground.

If all the directional signals work properly, and one brake light does not. The problem is the directional signal switch in the steering column.

Thanks for the info. I'll get to it when I get off of work.

Thanks again.
