FYI to anyone considering a suspension rebuild, I just completed this on my 73' Dart, following the methods in Tom Condron's book and I must say it worked out well. Using all Moog parts, including the offset upper control arm bushings installed the Condron way, and 11/16 tie rod ends, the car sure handles drives and rides much better. With the UCA bushings installed this way the alignment shop was able to get 3.5 degrees + caster (and the other specs recommended by Condron) which has much to do I think with a new feeling of stable tracking, especially at speed. My project also included the 340 t-bars and conversion from drum to disc brakes. In addition to the Condron book, this forum was a great help to me as I worked my way through several snags to project completion. I still have more to do such as a 7.25 to 8.25 rear end swap in the works, and this spring installing an 833 OD, but I just thought I'd share what's done so far. Thanks to all Slantsix.org contributors. PS- To anyone planning this kind of project I strongly recommend buying a donor car, which I did for little $, and the value of the parts yield from the donor far exceeded its cost. |

Yes, a complete donor car is the best way to go, $60 for a crapped out '75 Dart saved me the hundreds of dollars it would have costed to individually buy all of the parts seperately. And what I couldn't use, I was able to resell and recoop the original investment. |

I have recently read this Condron book, and I can also heartily recommend that to someone starting a project like this. Lou |
